Vytautas V. Landsbergis was born in Vilnius, on May 25, 1962. In 1985, he completed his studies in Lithuanian Philology at Vilnius University, and in 1993, in Film Directing at Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Institute of Tbilisi. In 1991, he furthered his knowledge in film directing with Jonas Mekas at the Film Anthology Archive in New York, and later, at the courses for young European theatre directors organised in Great Britain. In 1993, Vytautas V. Landsbergis established the studio of documentaries and videofilms A Propos in Vilnius and worked as its manager till 2000. In 2008, together with Ramunė Landsbergienė, he founded the publishing house Dominicus Lituanus. Since 2014, the artist has been giving lectures at the Klaipėda University; is an associate professor. The artist has produced over 20 documentaries and feature films. Also, he has published numerous poetry collections and books for children. In 2007, the Order for Merits to Lithuania (Cross of the Knight) was granted to Vytautas V. Landsbergis. In 2009, the director also received the Lithuanian National Culture and Art Award established by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
