On November 5-7, 2010, the meeting of the Dramatic Laboratory Network, the network for contemporary drama by new playwrights was held at the Arts Printing House. The aim of the network meeting was to popularise and spread the word about the dramas created for European theatre stages as well as to provide contemporary playwrights with the possibility to see their works being staged in various countries.
This growing network currently unites independent European theatres and organizations from Sweden, Denmark, Romania, Finland, Poland, Turkey, Georgia, and Lithuania, all of which propagate and stage the new drama as well as initiate the creation of new plays through cooperation with young authors.
Also, plays are being created in foreign countries. That is how the Stockholm theatre Dramalabbet staged the play On the Other Side of the Mirror (Lith. Kitoje veidrodžio pusėje) written by Gabrielė Labanauskaitė (in 2009, the play was shown at the Arts Printing House), and exchanged ideas about plays as well as women playwrights with the Royal District Theatre in Tbilisi.
Together with national institutions of culture the network encourages the translation of the plays by member countries. The Arts Printing House has been the member of this network since 2009.
The KOM theatre from Helsinki, the Tbilisi Royal District Theatre, the theatre Cafeteatret from Copenhagen, the Dramalabbet from Stockholm, and the Dirty Deal theatre from Riga participated in the meeting of the Dramatic Laboratory Network organised in Vilnius.
